I'm new and actually not doing any weaving right now (I have an inkle loom and am looking for a floor loom but I work the Renaissance Pleasure Faire here in Southern CA and so have no spare time), and I can't get the hang of spinning. But I know people who do so we trade off and they spin any rovings for me and I knit, sew, or whatever for them. Just wanted to say "Hi" and all...

Thu, April 12, 2007 - 1:22 PMWelcome :)
What a fun trade you have going!
I'm also new... I'm a spinner who weaves and knits/crochets on occasion. I have access to a floor loom that I keep saying I'm going to warp up, but I can't drag myself away from my spinning wheels.
The Renaissance Pleasure Faire... now that sounds like a fun job!

Re: Hello! I'm new...
Wed, April 18, 2007 - 4:02 PMI'm a member of the Guild of St. Cuthberts - guild of parades and pageants. We are the idiots who do the opening/closing/Lord Mayors parade and add "local" color to the Queens Progress. I provide security for the masses from the crazy people who are tumbling in the Lord Mayors parade & also, I sing, sometimes weave or knit in the guildyard and try really hard not to give away all my cough syrup. Also, this coming weekend I am being brought in as a ringer for my guild's kitchen because they are understaffed. AND I work the kid's show (knighting) every afternoon. Really, it's very fun and relaxing! -
